Clasp is a venture-backed fintech startup on a mission to transform access to education and career pathways, tackling the student debt crisis. The company operates two business lines: Clasp Talent (connecting healthcare employers with diverse candidates using student loan repayment as a recruiting tool) and Clasp Finance (providing lending technology to colleges and universities for private student loan programs). Clasp is a Forbes Fintech 50 company and portfolio company of SHRM. You will be hired as a Product Manager or Senior Product Manager for Data & Foundations, leading two engineering pods: the existing Data team and the new Foundations & Integrations team. Your role spans four core areas: **Roadmap & Delivery**: Run roadmap and sprint planning for both pods, working with two engineering leads. Keep teams focused, unblocked, and shipping. Break large efforts into clear milestones and communicate progress and risk honestly. Make trade-offs openly rather than defaulting to the loudest request. **Data Ingestion & Integrations**: Own how customer data stays in sync with Clasp systems, from SFTP file ingestion to full API integrations. Make onboarding new partners faster, more repeatable, and less dependent on engineering heroics. Design for failure scenarios including validation, monitoring, and clear recovery paths so problems surface before partners notice. Lead enterprise-readiness work like SCIM provisioning. **Notifications & User Communications**: Own how Clasp communicates with end users across email, in-product, and emerging channels like AI chat. Give teams visibility into what goes out, to whom, and why. **Internal Tools & AI**: Own the tools teams use to support partners and users, including staff tools, user impersonation, and internal workflows. Push for better UAT environments and engineering foundations so every product team can ship faster and more safely. **Data & Reporting**: Partner with the data team to bring data from across the business into a single source of truth. Set the vision for customer-facing and internal reporting, ensuring both are trusted and acted upon. Your customers are a mix of internal teams, customers, and end users. You'll shape the roadmap with the Director of Product and work alongside three other PMs across Clasp Talent and Clasp Finance. The role requires comfort with technical depth, hands-on product ownership, and the ability to bridge engineering, data, and business perspectives. **Requirements:** - Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience (work weighted heavily over credential) - 3+ years in product management (5+ for Senior PM level), ideally on data, integrations, communications, internal tools, or B2B SaaS products - Background in data, solutions engineering, or engineering before product is a plus - Technical depth: comfortable in SQL, can read a data model, understand APIs, webhooks, file-based integrations, and auth/provisioning patterns well enough to hold your own in system design discussions - Hands-on experience owning or shipping customer or partner integrations (SFTP, APIs, SSO/SCIM, or similar) with a clear view of what makes them scale or break - Experience running roadmaps and sprint planning for engineering teams, ideally across more than one team at a time - Real partnership with data teams; understand the modern data stack (warehouses, pipelines, BI) well enough to contribute to migrations, data quality, and reporting - Hands-on experimentation with LLMs, MCP, or agents, with a grounded view of where they help in user communications and internal operations, and where they don't - Strong written and verbal communication; can explain a migration plan to an executive and a partner-facing impact to an engineer **Nice to Have:** - Fintech, lending, HR tech, or healthcare experience - Experience in a regulated industry where consumer data, consent, and access controls carry real rules - Notification or messaging experience (email, in-app, SMS, or conversational AI) - Building or replacing an internal tools stack at a growing company **Location Note:** Remote (Eastern & Central time zones only). Some travel required. Not eligible for immigration sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
