Addepar is a global data and AI platform serving 1,500+ firms managing nearly $10 trillion in assets. The company unifies portfolio, market, and client data to deliver AI-powered insights within investment and client workflows. You will own the product roadmap for Addepar's Observability and Compute/Network teams within Foundation Engineering. This is an infrastructure-focused product role where you'll define how engineers understand system health (metrics, logs, tracing, alerting, on-call tooling, SLOs) and the compute/networking substrate their services run on (provisioning, container orchestration, networking, security posture, capacity planning, cost). Key responsibilities include: - Own and evolve the product roadmap spanning observability platforms, alerting, SLO frameworks, dashboards, compute provisioning, container orchestration, networking, service mesh, capacity planning, and infrastructure cost management - Partner with Foundation Engineering leadership to balance reliability, security, developer needs, capacity constraints, and cost into a prioritized roadmap - Define and track outcomes (SLO attainment, MTTD/MTTR, self-service adoption, provisioning lead time, infrastructure cost per unit) to drive investment decisions - Drive self-service infrastructure: make instrumentation, dashboards, and provisioning available through secure, policy-compliant paved paths - Collaborate with Information Security and Risk to translate security requirements into roadmap priorities - Gather feedback from engineering teams via incident retrospectives, surveys, and direct engagement to identify gaps - Represent roadmaps to platform leadership and cross-functional partners; communicate tradeoffs and progress - Monitor industry trends in observability (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus/Grafana, Datadog) and compute/network infrastructure (Kubernetes, service mesh, cloud networking, cost optimization) to inform build-vs-buy decisions You'll report to product leadership within Developer Platform and work day-to-day with engineering leadership for Observability and Compute/Network teams. REQUIREMENTS: - Prior product management experience, ideally owning infrastructure-facing products (observability, SRE tooling, cloud compute, or networking platforms) - Demonstrated ability to define product roadmaps and deliver infrastructure capabilities, translating ambiguous reliability and capacity problems into scoped, prioritized work - Working technical fluency in observability (metrics, logs, distributed tracing, SLOs/error budgets) or compute/networking (cloud compute, containers/Kubernetes, networking), with ability to build fluency across both domains - Track record managing product development for infrastructure/platform capabilities with multiple engineering stakeholders and competing priorities - Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills to align engineering leads, platform leadership, and product teams around shared roadmaps - Ability to prioritize investments based on reliability, security, and cost (MTTD/MTTR, SLO attainment, vulnerability remediation SLAs, infrastructure cost efficiency) - Experience evaluating, delivering, or driving adoption of observability platforms (Sumo Logic, Wavefront, Sentry, or similar) or compute/network tooling (Kubernetes, Terraform, cloud-provider networking or cost-management tools) - Familiarity with SRE practices: SLOs, error budgets, incident management, on-call process design - Familiarity with financial services or other regulated-industry engineering environments (preferred) - Experience driving infrastructure adoption and self-service models across large, distributed engineering organizations (preferred) - Experience partnering with globally distributed engineering teams across time zones (preferred) Note: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future visa sponsorship and must be authorized to begin work on their first day of employment.
