Traversal is an AI Site Reliability Engineer (AI SRE) platform for enterprises, autonomously diagnosing, fixing, and preventing production incidents across complex environments. The company is backed by Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins, and other top-tier investors, with a team including researchers from MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, Columbia, and Cornell, plus operators from Google, Meta, Datadog, and ServiceNow.
As a Product Manager, you will build the product layer on top of core AI agents, defining how the agent behaves, communicates, and interacts across multiple surfaces: a web app, Slack, Microsoft Teams, an MCP (Model Context Protocol) for coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor, and APIs that engineers build workflows around. You'll work with a small, high-agency product team at a rapidly scaling company.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with customers (SREs, platform engineers, incident responders at major enterprises), engineers, and AI researchers to define product strategy and roadmap
- Build the product layer across web and headless surfaces, thinking holistically about user experience
- Iterate on agent prompts, run evals, and distinguish good outputs from great ones
- Own enterprise-readiness features like fine-grained access control and RBAC
- Prototype ideas yourself; bring prototypes (not just PRDs) to product reviews
- Sequence rollouts by finding the MVP, shipping on minimal surfaces, testing with beta users, then expanding
- Work with forward-deployed engineers during customer POVs to ship features quickly
- Anticipate where the agent ecosystem is heading and bring those insights into product
- Help shape the product function, roadmap, and processes as the company scales

REQUIREMENTS:
- ~5+ years of combined work experience in product management, engineering, or similar roles, with at least 2 years as a PM
- Deep power user of AI agents (work and personal) with strong opinions on what makes them great
- Deep intuition for how LLMs and agents work, including when to add structure and when to let agents be free
- Intuition for personal and multi-agent experiences; sense of where agents are heading next
- Strong taste in both UI design and headless experiences; judgment about when to use each
- Excellent writer: concise, clear docs; agent prompts that elicit exact behavior; clear customer comms
- High agency: do whatever the product needs, build and ship yourself, bring prototypes to reviews, ship and iterate fast, create structure where there isn't any
- Exceptional with customers: credible with senior engineers at large enterprises
NICE TO HAVE:
- Hands-on experience building a product that is itself an AI agent
- Side projects built with AI
- 1–2+ years in software engineering or SRE role
- Experience helping a company move from less to more structured
- Early PM at a high-growth startup
- Experience with data-heavy or enterprise SaaS products
- Exposure to observability tooling, SRE workflows, or on-call environments
