Socket is hiring its first dedicated Product Manager to shape the product strategy and direction of a developer security platform used by thousands of organizations including Anthropic, xAI, Figma, and Vercel. The company helps developers and security teams ship faster by cutting out security busywork through open source code auditing and management. In this role, you will own prioritization across customer commitments, support escalations, reliability work, and new opportunities. You'll work directly with customers, sit in on Customer Engineering and Sales calls, and test proposed solutions early to validate assumptions before committing resources. You'll partner closely with engineering and design to translate priorities into clear requirements, user stories, success criteria, and project plans with defined owners, dependencies, and milestones. You'll be responsible for building Socket's product practices from the ground up—establishing how the team prioritizes, makes tradeoffs, defines success, roadmaps, and communicates decisions. You'll maintain a current picture of all commitments (contractual obligations, support work, exploratory initiatives) and provide clear guidance to go-to-market teams on what can be promised and realistic timelines. You'll document the expected benefits and key assumptions behind each investment, track adoption and outcomes, and feed learnings back into future planning cycles. This is an opportunity to join at a point of real product-market fit with a growing customer base and significant room to shape what comes next. You'll work closely with leadership and engineering to understand where customers are heading, identify problems worth solving, and decide where to invest. REQUIREMENTS: - Several years of product management experience, ideally owning developer-facing, security, or infrastructure products in a B2B SaaS environment - Track record of making hard prioritization calls under real capacity limits; comfortable saying no and making tradeoffs explicit - Technical depth sufficient to hold your own with engineers and customers—understanding CI/CD pipelines, lockfiles, build performance implications, and similar developer infrastructure concepts - Customer curiosity: dig underneath feature requests to uncover underlying problems rather than passing along requests as-is - Ability to earn trust with engineers by bringing context, asking strong questions, and respecting technical ownership; can influence across Engineering, Customer Engineering, Sales, and leadership without formal authority - Strong project management instincts; surface risks early and keep teams aligned through scope and timing changes - Clear, concise written communication skills; the team works heavily async - Builder mindset and comfort operating without an existing playbook PREFERRED: - Experience with software supply chain security, application security, vulnerability management, or security platforms - Track record building products for developers or security teams - Familiarity with enterprise software evaluation, technical sales cycles, and customer-driven roadmap pressure - Experience joining as an early or first dedicated Product Manager
