Factbird is redefining manufacturing operations by combining hardware, firmware, cloud, and AI to turn raw production data into measurable factory-floor impact. We're seeking experienced Product Managers to join our Product Management team, reporting to the Director of Product.
The role is high-impact and hands-on. You will set direction, own the roadmap, and drive execution from idea to launch. You'll work closely with dedicated development teams, peer product leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders including firmware, cloud, UX, and business teams.
Factbird is hiring for three specific focus areas:
**Production Insights:** This role requires a strong PM foundation with proven experience building products that communicate complex datasets and provide actionable insights to diverse user groups. Manufacturing industry experience is a key differentiator—ideally you've worked on a shop floor or directly with manufacturing operations, understanding what "real value" means to production line operators. You'll translate production pain points into product decisions.
**HW/FW and Data Capture:** Ideal for a structured PM with hands-on experience collaborating with hardware/firmware teams. You'll partner with senior technical leads to shape roadmaps, combining technical requirements with business priorities. You'll manage the hardware lifecycle, ensure control of deployed fleet, and expand systems that capture data from field devices and inject it into the cloud platform. Knowledge of IoT connectivity, networks, protocols, and integrations is essential.
**Core Responsibilities (all focus areas):**
- Define roadmaps, prioritize ruthlessly, and solve the biggest problems customers face
- Act as the connective tissue between product, firmware, cloud, UX, and business stakeholders
- Clarify customer needs, map jobs to be done, and translate findings into user stories
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders for continuous discovery
- Drive product launches, gather feedback, and iterate based on real-world usage
- Define and track KPIs aligned with product objectives
You thrive in high-ownership, fast-paced environments where impact is visible. You're comfortable making decisions with imperfect information and excel at turning complexity into clarity. You care deeply about understanding underlying problems before building solutions and want to create products customers depend on.
**Requirements:**
- Solid Product Management Experience: Well-versed in PM frameworks and agile processes with a practical approach
- For "Production Insights" focus: Hands-on shop floor experience is a hard requirement. You've been accountable for performance metrics by collaborating with operators, process engineers, continuous improvement leads, and plant/operations managers. This operational depth is essential to translate production pain into product decisions.
- Continuous Discovery Mindset: You talk to customers constantly, map their jobs to be done, and identify commonalities. Comfortable with ambiguity until the real problem surfaces.
- Strong Data and Analytics Instinct: Comfortable working with data and translating analysis into concrete actions
- Natural Communicator: Speak the language of engineers, designers, operators, and leadership; adapt communication style to your audience
- Proven ability to set and agree direction with R&D teams, driving results where the team feels proud of the outcome
