Defense Unicorns is seeking a Product Manager to join their product team and drive the strategy and delivery of tooling and pipelines that support UDS application packaging and core software deliverables. You will report to the Director of Product and work cross-functionally with engineering and go-to-market teams to deliver outcomes that are critical business enablers.
In this role, you will own product vision end-to-end across multiple customer segments, including both commercial and open-source software offerings. You'll be responsible for synthesizing external customer requests into a cohesive internal product roadmap, managing engineer capacity and delivery expectations, and establishing clear communication of vision and objectives across all organizational levels—from individual contributors to executives.
Key responsibilities include: fostering and participating in open-source communities around Defense Unicorns' projects; balancing customer, business, and technical priorities with constrained resources; keeping Growth and Delivery teams aligned on roadmap and value proposition to support pricing strategy and customer segmentation; managing task, information, and code management tools (GitHub, Notion, HubSpot, Google Workspace); staying current with industry trends in Product Management, DevOps, regulated IT, and the CNCF community; delivering software using Agile principles; presenting to customers; and having technical conversations with engineering and design to trade off roadmap priorities against engineering effort.
Defense Unicorns delivers mission value by streamlining software delivery for defense and civil agencies across the U.S. government, as well as leading-edge commercial software creators. The company specializes in secure solutions for continuous software integration and delivery, with a focus on Kubernetes, cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure), infrastructure-as-code, continuous delivery automation, GitOps, containers, CNCF projects, and security delivery.

- Skill in balancing customer, business, and technical priorities with limited resources
- Experience synthesizing customer requests into product roadmaps
- Discipline to work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment
- Experience with task, information, and code management tools (GitHub, Notion, HubSpot, Google Workspace)
- Commitment to continuous learning in Product Management, DevOps, regulated IT, and CNCF
- Experience delivering software using Agile principles
- Understanding of business strategy and ability to adapt product strategy accordingly
- Comfort presenting to customers
- Ability to have technical conversations with engineering and design teams
Preferred:
- Deep understanding of DevSecOps pipelines and associated tools
