Speak is an AI-powered language learning platform that has achieved product-market fit in multiple markets and raised over $150M from top-tier investors including OpenAI, Accel, and Founders Fund. The company operates across 40+ countries with offices in San Francisco, Ljubljana, Seoul, Tokyo, and Taipei, serving learners in 15+ languages.
This Product Manager role focuses on building a product system to scale content generation and quality assurance—currently a production bottleneck. The long-term vision is a superhuman tutor that understands learner level, goals, mistakes, and context to deliver the right lesson, conversation, drill, or assessment at the right moment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the content generation and quality product roadmap
- Designing and shipping authoring, generation, QA, evals, and content improvement loops for internal and external users
- Building product workflows for human expert review, automation, and quality gates
- Partnering closely with curriculum, AI, engineering, product, and learning teams
- Defining evals and ship/no-ship criteria for AI-generated lessons, feedback, and content variants
- Building feedback loops from learner behavior (ratings, completion, complaints, expert review) back into generation quality
- Designing the end-to-end workflow from content request through generated draft, human review, to launch
You'll drive transformation that enables new languages and professional courses to scale at software velocity while maintaining pedagogical integrity and quality guarantees. This is a high-leverage role where a single person can significantly impact the company's trajectory.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 6+ years of hands-on Product Management experience
- Experience with AI product systems: generated content, authoring tools, workflow automation, evals, QA, or expert-review workflows
- Technical fluency around model behavior, data quality, reliability, and user trust—enough to define real product requirements, not just relay them
- Strong written communication and structured thinking
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional outcomes without formal authority or direct reports
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with creator tooling or content operations at scale
- Familiarity with content quality programs, pedagogical frameworks, or learning science
