Buena acquires property management companies and develops the software they use daily. You'll serve as Product Manager for the Accounting module, working directly with users, engineers, and designers to transform complex accounting software into tools that make people's work easier.
In this role, you will:
- Deeply understand accounting processes used by property management companies, including edge cases, regulatory requirements, and existing constraints
- Distinguish between missing features, unclear workflows, technical bugs, and usability questions
- Shape the product direction for Accounting at Buena by prioritizing improvements based on user impact, regulatory necessity, and business value
- Translate complex requirements into clear concepts, specifications, and user workflows that you develop further with engineering and design
- Ensure correctness by reviewing solutions, thinking through edge cases, and validating that new features meet underlying requirements
- Stay engaged through launch and verify that improvements solve the original problem in real-world use
You may work on targeted improvements (e.g., rent distribution workflows) or fundamental evolution of the account structure.
Qualifications:
- Deep understanding of accounting: you can explain workflows and recognize when something is missing or incorrect. Experience in real estate or property management (WEG) accounting is particularly valuable.
- Product thinking: you question existing processes, distinguish real requirements from habits, and develop ideas for better workflows
- Analytical strength: you break down complex problems, compare solution paths, and identify the next step with the highest impact
- Technical curiosity: you want to understand how the software works and can discuss requirements and trade-offs with engineers
- Clear communication and ownership: you bring domain expertise, user perspective, and product development together and stay committed to solutions until they work in practice
- Particularly relevant: experience developing or improving accounting software. Your previous job title is secondary; what matters is understanding accounting and deriving meaningful software solutions from that knowledge. Practical experience with AI tools for research, prototyping, or testing is a plus.
