Salary: USD 150,000 - 220,000 / annual
Column is a developer-first bank and financial infrastructure platform founded by veterans from Plaid, Square, Meta, Blend, and Affirm. The company simplifies the banking supply chain by combining banking and software capabilities, eliminating hundreds of vendors and middleware layers that traditionally sit between fintechs and traditional banks.
As Product Lead, you will own strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for key products with no existing roadmap to inherit. You'll act as the "GM" of your product area, responsible for everything from product strategy and requirements to internal platform development. This is a foundational role for the company's next decade of growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning product strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for key products
- Identifying bottlenecks to scale and designing products/workflows to remove them
- Making "build vs. buy" decisions for new tooling and systems
- Spending significant time on-site with operators to understand workflows and translate insights into product decisions
- Driving end-to-end execution, including timelines, alignment, and accountability across teams
The role is based in Column's San Francisco office (Presidio) with heavy travel expectations: 50%+ of time on the road, often embedded on-site for 2–4 weeks at a time.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of product management experience at a high-growth technology company
- Understanding of great software and exceptional user experiences
- Track record of shipping products that solved real operational or customer problems
- Business owner's mindset: comfort with pricing, margins, P&L tradeoffs, specs, and roadmaps
- Ability to influence and align stakeholders with different priorities
- Hyper-organized execution approach; comfortable managing multiple workstreams across teams
- Genuine excitement about spending ~50% of time on the road, embedded with operators and their teams
- Scrappy, roll-up-your-sleeves attitude; willingness to get hands dirty
- Familiarity with banking or fintech preferred but not required; must have interest in becoming an expert in this space
