Rippling is a unified platform for HR, IT, and Finance that automates the entire employee lifecycle. The Finance Accounting team builds the accounting foundation behind Rippling's Finance products, helping customers turn activity across spend, procurement, reimbursements, and other workflows into accurate, auditable data in their ERP.
You will lead the Finance Accounting product area, owning the accountant experience across Rippling's Finance products and defining the future of accounting automation. Your mandate spans two critical areas: (1) building the accounting infrastructure, workflows, and ERP integrations required to serve complex enterprise Finance customers, and (2) creating AI-powered accounting workflows that automate manual close work—from validating transaction coding and configuration readiness to recovering failed syncs, reconciling activity, and preparing adjustments.

Key responsibilities:
- Set product strategy and roadmap for Finance Accounting with a clear point of view on how Rippling should help finance teams translate operational activity into accurate accounting outcomes
- Build core accounting platform including workflows for configuring rules, mapping data, posting to ERP, and resolving sync failures
- Design product experiences that give accountants confidence in accuracy, completeness, and auditability of their books
- Lead development of AI-assisted accounting workflows to validate transactions, identify exceptions, recover from failures, and reduce manual close work
- Partner deeply with engineering and design to turn complex accounting and integration problems into intuitive, reliable experiences
- Spend time with customers, implementation teams, support, accounting experts, and ERP partners to understand workflow breakdowns and friction points
- Define how Rippling should support enterprise customers with unique needs like multi-entity setups, tax and currency requirements, and controls/reporting expectations
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of product management experience, ideally on complex B2B software
- Strong product judgment and ability to turn ambiguous problems into clear strategy
- Experience building technically complex products dependent on integrations, data models, or platform infrastructure
- Strong understanding of accounting workflows and financial systems businesses use, or ability to quickly develop fluency
- Ability to work closely with engineers on complex system and data problems
- Strong customer instincts and willingness to learn detailed accounting workflows firsthand
- High ownership; comfortable setting direction and making decisions in fast-moving environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience building accounting, ERP, fintech, or financial operations products
- Familiarity with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliation, transaction coding, or financial integrations
- Experience building AI agents or AI-powered workflow products
- Experience building products for controllers, accountants, or enterprise finance teams
