Anthropic is seeking a Product Finance & Strategy professional to own the economics and financial strategy behind model monetization and enterprise product investments. This is a high-autonomy role with significant influence over how Anthropic prices and packages its AI models, as well as the business cases and investment decisions for enterprise and vertical product initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own model monetization end-to-end: build and maintain financial models connecting token economics, inference costs, compute costs, and margin to pricing and packaging decisions across the model family and API
- Serve as the Finance & Strategy partner to Enterprise and Verticals product teams, providing financial analysis on enterprise and industry-specific product development
- Build business cases for enterprise and vertical product investments: size market opportunities, model product economics and pricing, and evaluate returns on competing roadmap bets
- Partner cross-functionally with product, go-to-market, and compute teams to evaluate pricing changes, new model launches, and consumption-based offerings, translating analysis into clear recommendations
- Analyze drivers of unit economics and gross margin, surfacing trends, risks, and opportunities for monetization and product strategy
- Track competitive and market landscape for AI monetization and enterprise adoption, bringing external perspective to sharpen strategy
- Form and defend viewpoints on monetization and product investment decisions, delivering concise analyses that drive resolution with executives and partners
- Collaborate with finance, FP&A, and accounting teams to ensure decisions align with broader financial strategy and reporting
- Establish and maintain reporting dashboards tracking key pricing, margin, consumption, and product performance metrics
The role requires someone who enjoys building complex financial models, can own workstreams independently from question to decision, and has strong judgment to form opinions and defend them with analysis. You should follow AI developments closely and have a perspective on where the field is heading. The ability to explain complex financial information clearly to non-finance audiences is essential.
Requirements:
- Advanced modeling skills: ability to build and maintain complex operating models from scratch
- Demonstrated record of owning a workstream and driving it independently to decision
- Strong judgment and analytical rigor; ability to form opinions and update them based on analysis
- Close familiarity with AI field and a perspective on its trajectory
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Commitment to Anthropic's mission of building safe, transformative AI systems
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years in strategic finance, product finance, pricing, investment banking, private equity, growth equity, or management consulting
- Operating experience inside a company (not solely advisory or investing roles)
- Direct experience owning pricing, packaging, or monetization strategy (setting list prices, designing tiering, running pricing research, measuring pricing impact)
- Experience partnering with product organizations on business cases, investment decisions, or roadmap prioritization
- Experience with usage-based, API, or developer platform pricing and consumption-based business models
- Knowledge of cloud computing infrastructure and compute economics
- SQL proficiency
