You will join as a Product Engineer—a full-stack engineer working directly with operational teams to understand problems, shape solutions, and ship working products end-to-end. Rather than receiving a spec, you'll sit with business and operational stakeholders, figure out what they need, and own the work from first conversation through design, build, deployment, and iteration.
GenAI is central to both the products Springboard ships and how engineers write software. You'll build GenAI-powered capabilities including LLM integrations, agents, RAG systems, and workflow automation where they measurably improve outcomes for students or operators. You'll use AI-assisted development (coding agents, AI code review) as a default part of your workflow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Working directly with operational partners to understand workflows and constraints, turning them into scoped, buildable solutions
- Owning features end-to-end: data model, backend, frontend, deployment, instrumentation, and post-launch iteration
- Building GenAI-powered capabilities that measurably improve outcomes
- Making pragmatic trade-offs: ship small, measure, iterate
- Owning reliability through testing, code review, production support, and tech debt paydown
- Communicating progress, trade-offs, and scope decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- At Senior level: leading ambiguous, multi-stakeholder projects and mentoring other engineers
You'll build products that directly shape how thousands of learners progress through human-guided programs, with short feedback loops to users and real opportunity to apply GenAI to hard problems in education.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must have:
- Minimum 4 years of industry experience
- Strong full-stack skills: backend (Python/Django preferred) and frontend (React preferred; Angular or Vue acceptable)
- Solid SQL and data modeling
- Hands-on production experience with a major cloud platform (GCP preferred; AWS or Azure acceptable): deploying, operating, and debugging services
- Hands-on GenAI experience: built at least one feature or tool on LLM APIs (prompting, tool use, retrieval, evaluation) and use AI coding tools daily
- Track record of shipping products end-to-end, including defining requirements directly with business or operational users
- Clear, direct communication with non-engineers
- Must reside in and be authorized to work in India
Good to have:
- Kubernetes (GKE) and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with an LMS, especially Canvas
- BigQuery, analytics pipelines, or event instrumentation (e.g., Segment)
- Agent frameworks or MCP
- Refactoring complex systems or decomposing monoliths
