Lumilens is seeking an experienced Optical Transceiver Product Engineer to lead manufacturing readiness and product execution across the lifecycle of optical transceiver products, from development through high-volume manufacturing. You will own new product introduction (NPI) and product transfer to contract manufacturing sites, ensuring processes, documentation, and yields meet quality and reliability standards before mass production release.
Key responsibilities include end-to-end manufacturing ownership with change control and QMS compliance; accountability for product yield, quality, and reliability as the lead customer contact; accuracy of manufacturing BOMs and driving cost optimization; defining and executing continuous improvement plans for yield, cycle time, throughput, and scrap reduction; tracking manufacturing test results and specification compliance; leading debug and failure analysis of yield excursions and field returns; collaborating with design and process engineering teams on DFM guidelines; and preparing product and process reports with trend analysis.
You will work closely with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and internal cross-functional teams in design, process engineering, quality, and operations. The role requires deep expertise in optical transceiver manufacturing, particularly 800G and 1.6T products, with 5+ years of high-volume manufacturing experience. Required skills include strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities, hands-on debug and failure analysis expertise, statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis proficiency, and in-depth understanding of quality management systems and standards. Experience with optical assembly processes (wire bond, die bond, active optical alignment, testing, burn-in) and reliability testing best practices is strongly preferred. You must be comfortable working in geographically diverse cross-functional teams, have strong English communication skills for both in-person and virtual presentations, and be willing to travel internationally.
