Assembled is a unified platform that orchestrates human agents and AI at scale for customer support operations. The company serves enterprises like Canva, Etsy, and Robinhood, providing AI agents that resolve cases end-to-end, AI copilot for agent assistance, and AI-powered workforce management. Backed by $71M from NEA, Emergence Capital, and Stripe, Assembled is building the platform that makes AI and human collaboration work effectively.
As a Product Designer on the Platform Teams, you will tackle some of the broadest and most complex product challenges at Assembled. You'll design tools that help support teams understand their operations, make high-stakes decisions, plan for the future, and collaborate with AI to accomplish work. This role focuses on making sophisticated software feel remarkably simple.
Your responsibilities include turning complex operational workflows into intuitive, powerful products; defining new interaction patterns for working with AI agents (delegation, understanding decisions, maintaining control); designing data-rich experiences that help customers understand what's happening and what to do next; shaping new product areas from planning and analytics to setup and integrations; leading customer research and discovery to inform product strategy; partnering deeply with product and engineering to influence roadmap and carry ideas through implementation; and using AI agents to instrument experiences, prototype ideas, and run experiments.
You'll need 3+ years designing and shipping production B2B software with a focus on complex, consequential customer problems. Strong systems and interaction design skills are essential—you can distill messy, multi-stakeholder needs into clear, reusable experiences. You turn ambiguity into shipped product quickly without losing sight of craft or customer impact. You lead your own research, build close relationships with users, and communicate effectively across customers, engineers, product partners, and teammates. You make powerful, data-dense products approachable for non-technical operators without sacrificing depth or flexibility. You're energized by broad ownership and comfortable influencing both product strategy and execution.
Nice-to-have skills include coding ability and experience using coding agents to prototype or ship, plus practical AI fluency (Cursor, Claude, etc.) with an informed view of what AI can and can't do today.
This is a full-time, onsite role based in the New York City office, five days a week (Monday–Friday).
