The Product Designer II role is for a mid-career designer ready to own meaningful design problems independently. You will drive design decisions with greater autonomy across features and product areas of growing complexity. This is a practitioner role focused on solving genuine design challenges in high-stakes financial workflows where clarity, accuracy, and trust are critical requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own end-to-end design execution for features and workflows across the platform, from discovery through delivery
- Lead user research activities including customer interviews, usability testing, and synthesis sessions to become an expert in how lenders, owners, contractors, and inspectors use the product
- Create user flows, journey maps, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups, selecting appropriate fidelity levels for each design question
- Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to ensure designs are feasible and implemented with fidelity to intent
- Contribute to and maintain the design system, identifying opportunities to improve shared components and patterns
- Articulate design decisions and trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders, framing rationale in terms of user needs and business outcomes
- Use data and behavioral insights to validate and iterate on design solutions
- Support junior designers through informal feedback and collaboration
Required qualifications:
- 2–4+ years of product or UX design experience in SaaS or digital product environments
- Strong proficiency in Figma and prototyping tools, working efficiently across multiple fidelity levels
- Demonstrated ability to handle end-to-end design for product features independently
- Solid understanding of UX research methods (generative and evaluative) and when to apply them
- Portfolio demonstrating thoughtful problem-framing and well-executed design solutions
- Clear communication skills: present work, defend decisions, and incorporate feedback constructively
- Attention to accessibility and inclusive design best practices is a meaningful plus
Success at six months means independently owning design for at least one feature area with shipped quality reflecting your design intent, being treated as a reliable and proactive design partner by product and engineering teams, and having led at least one user research initiative.
