Oscar Health is seeking a Product Designer to join the Product Design team, focusing on the ICHRA (Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement) experience within the Lucie Marketplace ecosystem. The Lucie platform spans direct enrollment for brokers, consumer marketplace, and ICHRA tooling—you'll design tools that help employers manage health plan contributions for employees. In this role, you'll partner closely with a Senior Product Designer and collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, research, data, and operational stakeholders. You'll own the design process from discovery through delivery, ensuring consistent, scalable, and intuitive experiences across the Lucie suite. You'll become an expert on user journeys, advocate for user needs, perform user research and usability testing, and contribute to Oscar's design language system (Anatomy). Key responsibilities include defining user experiences that support Oscar's mission to make healthcare affordable and accessible, owning the design process and driving alignment on solutions, performing user research to generate actionable insights, designing visually compelling interfaces, and collaborating with other designers through critiques and feedback. The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of product/UX design experience, with 2+ concrete examples of designing and shipping complex web and mobile interfaces. You should have 2+ years managing stakeholders directly and demonstrate strong visual design skills. Experience with healthcare, animated prototypes, design ethics, accessibility, internal tools, and user research are valued. You'll work autonomously across multiple technical domains, balancing execution speed with deep user empathy, and are comfortable leveraging AI-assisted tools like Claude Code alongside Figma. You'll report to the SVP of Product, Design, and Data. This is a fully remote position open to candidates residing in San Francisco, CA, though future work models may evolve to include hybrid presence at the hub office.
