Salary: CAD 163,480 - 245,220 / annual
Tailscale is a secure networking platform built on WireGuard that helps teams safely interconnect people and devices. The Product Design team is seeking an experienced designer to join the dedicated Growth team as the second designer on a cross-functional initiative.
You will focus on propelling growth initiatives around activation, onboarding, monetization, user expansion, and referral flywheel mechanics. Working closely with Product, UX Research, and Engineering, you'll deliver minimum-viable solutions designed to test hypotheses through rapid experimentation and iteration.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting and proposing product changes to move the needle on growth initiatives
- Participating in the experimentation lifecycle, learning from research and iterating based on feedback
- Contributing to a backlog of experiment ideas with multiple approaches to address friction areas
- Advocating for product changes that support user needs and best interests
- Upholding high quality standards while balancing experimentation with permanent changes
- Partnering with PM, researcher, fellow designer, and engineers to define problems, set experiment goals, and measure impact
You'll report to the Product Design Manager and work alongside an experienced Product Designer in the growth space.
Required qualifications:
- 3-5+ years of product design experience, ideally with onboarding, growth, or monetization focus
- Hands-on experience with growth tooling (A/B testing, behavioral analytics like Amplitude or Pendo)
- Experience with self-serve, product-led SaaS business models
- Comfort interpreting experiment results to guide design decisions
- Ability to balance speed and quality in design deliverables
- Experience working in distributed, async environments
Nice-to-have skills include familiarity with Tailscale or networking concepts (DNS, VPNs, traffic routing), and thoughtful experience with LLM tools in design workflows.
