Pencil is an advertising technology SaaS platform powered by generative AI, designed to democratize content creation for businesses of all sizes. The company is hiring a Product Designer to own the core Editor experience—the central marketing OS for content creation.
In this role, you will take full end-to-end ownership of a critical product area, from problem framing and concept exploration through final UI and shipped features. You'll partner closely with Product and Engineering to define and rapidly ship features that directly increase content generations and exports. Your focus will be designing high-quality, production-ready interfaces for editing tools that help users create, edit, and export ads faster with AI assistance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own a core area of the editing platform end-to-end, from strategy to execution
- Partner with Product and Engineering to define and ship features that drive generations and exports
- Design high-quality interfaces for editing tools, prioritizing speed and usability
- Expand the suite of creation tools across multiple formats (ads, images, video, email, display)
- Design and improve AI-powered editing workflows that feel clear, usable, and trustworthy
- Ensure design intent translates into development through close collaboration with engineers
- Conduct user research to identify problems, validate solutions, and improve usability
- Use and evolve the design system as the product scales
You should have 5+ years of experience designing digital products in SaaS or complex, workflow-driven editing and creation tools. A strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking with focus on speed and impact is essential. You're a builder with deep craft sensibility, strong interaction and visual design skills, and proven ability to work autonomously with strong product intuition. You're highly proficient in Figma, comfortable designing for AI-powered systems, and excited by AI as a design material.
This role is ideal if you thrive in execution-heavy environments with short cycles from concept to shipped feature, think deeply about user workflows from idea to finished asset, and want to help define new interaction paradigms in a high-growth environment. You'll be expected to own your space end-to-end, not just design screens.
The company offers 25 days PTO plus public holidays with flexible time off, health insurance, monthly wellness and learning stipend, remote work from anywhere in your home country, enhanced parental leave, access to the London office (The Shard), and flexible working hours.
