Figma is seeking a technically-minded Product Designer to shape how teams build together on its collaborative design platform. This role spans multiple product areas including the Figma Editor, AI tools, Interactivity, Design Systems, and Developer Tools—with specific focus determined during the interview process.
You'll contribute to overall product strategy and decision-making, translating ambiguity into clarity through structured thinking and user-centered research. Your responsibilities include designing and shipping high-quality features across Figma's core product surfaces, creating flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals, and providing thoughtful feedback to peers. You'll work cross-functionally with product management, engineering, design, and research teams to deliver clear storytelling around product needs and opportunities.
The role emphasizes systems thinking, prototyping, and craftsmanship. You'll participate in design critiques, mentor peers, and contribute to the design organization's culture by sharing best practices. A key aspect is your ability to independently drive design processes from discovery through launch while balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
Required qualifications include 3+ years designing UX/UI for complex software products, strong visual craft skills (composition, typography, layout), fluency in interaction design and prototyping, and experience with ambiguous problem-solving in complex systems. Experience researching or prototyping with AI and emerging tools is valued.
Preferred but not required: familiarity with web technologies (HTML/CSS), prototyping tools like Origami, advanced Figma features (Auto Layout, Variables, Components), design/development hybrid background, experience with canvas-based interfaces, or prior design systems work.
