Applied Intuition is a $15B Series A company powering physical AI for autonomous systems across automotive, defense, trucking, construction, mining, and agriculture. As a Product Designer specializing in developer tools, you will shape the user experience of sophisticated software platforms critical to autonomy and national security.
You will work on products enabling development, testing, and deployment of advanced autonomous systems and command-and-control applications for commercial and defense customers. This role sits at the intersection of autonomy, hardware, and software, requiring design expertise, understanding of complex operational environments, and the ability to translate intricate technical requirements into intuitive, highly effective user interfaces.
Key responsibilities include leading end-to-end design from concept to launch (user research, wireframing, prototyping, testing, visual design); translating complex operational requirements into elegant, user-centric solutions; developing high-fidelity mockups and interactive prototypes; conducting user research with commercial and defense personnel to understand workflows and pain points in mission-critical environments; iterating with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and defense subject matter experts; contributing to design systems for consistency and scalability; and advocating for users throughout the product lifecycle to ensure intuitive, efficient, reliable products under demanding conditions.
You bring 4+ years as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or similar role focused on complex software. You have experience with automotive products, video game UX, or similar interactive real-time simulation interfaces demonstrating ability to design engaging, responsive experiences with complex input schemes. Your portfolio showcases user-centered design, interaction design, and visual design across desktop and mobile. You are proficient in design tools like Figma, have excellent communication and presentation skills, thrive in fast-paced collaborative technically demanding environments, and have established and run user research.
Nice-to-have skills include 3D visualization, geospatial data, real-time data display, and knowledge of military operations or defense technologies. You must be a U.S. Citizen and hold or be eligible to obtain a U.S. security clearance. An active clearance is a plus.
Applied Intuition is headquartered in Sunnyvale with offices globally. The company expects primarily in-office work (5 days/week) with flexibility for occasional remote work and schedule management.
