Sydecar is transforming private markets by making them more accessible, transparent, and liquid through a platform that revolutionizes how investment vehicles are created and executed. The company serves venture capital firms, deal organizers, and first-time investors, automating banking, compliance, contracts, taxes, and reporting to let investors focus on making deals. You'll own end-to-end design for features and experiences as the product scales. This is a high-ownership role for a designer who excels at taking features from problem framing through shipped experience, working within an established design system, and partnering closely with product, engineering, and stakeholders. Key responsibilities include owning UX tradeoffs within features and flagging scope issues early; personally driving design on high-impact initiatives from discovery through delivery; simplifying complex, regulated workflows into clear, intuitive experiences; and maintaining high design quality while operating with startup speed. You'll lead feature-level research, proactively seeking customer conversations, partnering with Product to test assumptions and validate solutions, and acting as a voice of the customer in roadmap discussions. You'll apply and extend Sydecar's design system consistently, design within platform constraints, and create systems and flows that support trust, accuracy, and clarity for diverse user types. Collaboration is essential—you'll share and validate work with stakeholders, adapt to feedback gracefully, and build direct working relationships with Product and Engineering partners. You'll develop domain fluency in SPV workflows (closing, KYC, cap tables) and build working understanding of how regulatory and compliance constraints shape design decisions, identifying opportunities to create more joyful and high-value experiences. Required: 4+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX ownership; expertise designing complex workflows, multi-step processes, or system-heavy products; comfort working within and extending existing design systems; experience partnering directly with Product, Engineers, and stakeholders to scope, define, and ship features; strong communication and critique skills; deep experience leading and applying user research to drive strategy and execution. Curiosity about fintech, regulated industries, or complex products is a plus. You're data-informed with a bias toward shipping and iterating.
