Plaid is seeking an experienced Product Designer to own the design of its consumer-facing products, specifically Plaid Link and future direct-to-consumer experiences. This is a unique opportunity to be the sole designer on a small, senior team within Plaid's Consumer group, partnering closely with one PM and one engineering lead.
Plaid Link is the embedded UX that enables Plaid's customers to securely collect bank data from end-users. As the designer in this role, you'll be responsible for building on the success of this platform while innovating and delivering high-quality consumer experiences that unlock financial freedom for users.
Key responsibilities include owning consumer surface design end-to-end from problem definition through pixel-level polish, setting and maintaining the visual and interaction quality bar, partnering directly with product and engineering throughout the development cycle, building working prototypes (including with AI agents) to validate ideas before engineering commitment, producing high-quality deliverables from wireframes to pixel-perfect prototypes, advocating for consumers and user-centered processes, and contributing to design culture through collaboration and feedback.
The role requires 4+ years of experience creating and shipping quality digital products with consumer experience across mobile and web. You should have exceptional visual and interaction craft, with the ability to build nearly anything yourself and get the details right. Genuine integration of AI agents into your design and build process is essential, along with strong presentation skills and a clear point of view about design. You should have a proven track record of influencing team direction and tying design to business goals and metrics. Nice-to-have qualifications include shipping your own code or working as a design engineer.
