Midstream is an AI-native financial operating system built for health systems. The company helps finance, supply chain, and managed care teams gain real-time visibility into margin risk and actionable plans to capture opportunities. Midstream transforms structured, unstructured, and external data into contract-aware insights that drive smarter financial decisions across the back-office. As Product Designer, you will own the complete design lifecycle for enterprise healthcare workflows—from customer research and problem definition through wireframes, prototypes, visual design, launch, and iteration. You'll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and health system partners to transform fragmented manual workflows into intuitive, AI-powered experiences. Key responsibilities include: conducting user research to deeply understand health system operations and financial challenges; designing complex enterprise workflows that balance usability, flexibility, and scalability; contributing to design system strategy, architecture, and governance; and helping define how AI integrates naturally into enterprise software. As the second designer at an early-stage company, you'll shape both product experiences and how design contributes to company scaling. You'll occasionally apply design expertise beyond the product when it creates high impact—supporting launches, improving customer-facing experiences, or communicating complex ideas. You should have 5–7 years designing digital products, ideally in enterprise SaaS or workflow-intensive applications. You're data-driven, using research and analytics to guide decisions. You have an ownership mindset, proactively engaging customers and challenging assumptions. You think in systems, considering how workflows, components, information architecture, and interactions cohere into cohesive experiences. You're AI-fluent enough to design practical, trustworthy experiences around modern AI and ML. You have a bias to action, thriving in fast-moving startups where learning and shipping matter. You're team-first, motivated by company impact over rigid job boundaries.
