In two years, the company has grown to 20,000 monthly active users across renewable developers, asset operators, utilities, energy traders, and innovative startups. As an early-stage Product Designer, you'll be a crucial hire joining the growing product and engineering team. You'll own the design of individual features while helping establish the company's underlying design systems, language, and processes as it scales. The role involves deep collaboration across product, engineering, subject matter experts, and customer-facing teams.
Key design challenges include: live, data-dense dashboards and reports with varied datasets; news-like qualitative analysis; email newsletters, notifications, and alerts; and developer experience for API users. You'll design end-to-end features iteratively, using written documents, mockups, and coded prototypes to communicate ideas from first principles. You'll proactively identify and ship fixes for quality issues, evolve the design language and system across product UI, brand, and data visualizations, and help shape the organization's product design process.
You should have shipped multiple products using complex data in clear, actionable UIs and have a defined point of view on effective, usable, and memorable software. You're a strong product thinker who can structure ambiguous problem spaces, frame decisions clearly, and help others understand UX tradeoffs. You're an excellent communicator who can articulate design decisions to varied audiences, extract nuance from feedback, and share work at various completion stages. Prior energy industry experience is not required, but enthusiasm to learn is essential.
