Geordie is building category-defining tooling for AI agent visibility, governance, and risk management. As a Product Designer, you will help shape how enterprises understand, govern, and trust their AI agents—a complex design challenge given the opacity of agent behavior and high stakes for customers. You'll join a small design team (currently three designers) reporting to the Head of Product Design. You'll be embedded within one of three development teams (growing to five), working directly alongside engineers and customers daily. Because the company is early-stage, you'll help establish foundational design infrastructure: the design language, component library, and patterns used across the product. You'll also contribute to Geordie's brand, ensuring product and brand feel cohesive. Design is not a layer applied at the end—the company ships multiple times daily and actively encourages designers to use AI agents to write code and prototype. There are no Product Managers; design and engineering partner directly to define problems, shape scope, and own outcomes. You'll have genuine end-to-end ownership. Key responsibilities include: owning end-to-end design of core product experiences from concept through iteration; building Geordie's design system (tokens, components, patterns, documentation); contributing to brand evolution (visual language, illustration, assets); leading customer discovery and research; testing thinking with customers early; collaborating daily with engineers (pairing, reviewing, prototyping); contributing to product direction; and maintaining a strong point of view on design for security and governance products (clear, trustworthy, built for expert users). The role demands someone who cares deeply about customers and can move fast without sacrificing quality. You should be comfortable with ambiguity—the product is evolving, and AI agent governance is a genuinely new domain. You need strong opinions about design systems and component architecture, with proven experience building or significantly contributing to one. You'll thrive in a collaborative engineering culture, comfortable pair-designing, reviewing pull requests for design quality, and using AI tools to accelerate your work. REQUIREMENTS: - Significant experience as a product designer with a portfolio demonstrating complex UX problem-solving (not just polished visuals) - Experience designing highly complex B2B SaaS products, including data visualization and data-dense interfaces; ability to turn large information volumes into something expert users can understand and act on - Proven ability to work across the full design process: research, concept, detailed design, and handoff - Strong product thinking; can define problems, question briefs, and help decide what to build, not just how it should look - Strong communication and collaboration skills; can align stakeholders, present work with clarity, and receive feedback well - Comfortable working in fast-moving, iterative environments where requirements evolve quickly NICE TO HAVES: - Experience designing for security, developer, or enterprise SaaS products - Familiarity with AI agent tooling, observability platforms, or data-dense interfaces - Experience contributing to a design system (tokens, components, documentation) - Experience with brand or visual identity work (illustration, iconography, marketing design) - Experience writing code (even basic frontend) or using AI tools to prototype in the browser - Background at an early-stage startup building things from scratch
