DatologyAI has built a state-of-the-art data curation suite that automatically optimizes petabytes of data to create the best possible training data for machine learning models. The company has raised $57.5M from top-tier investors including Felicis Ventures, Radical Ventures, Amplify Partners, Microsoft, Amazon, and AI visionaries like Geoff Hinton, Yann LeCun, and Jeff Dean.
As a Product Designer, you'll shape how users experience the platform from the ground up. Your users are ML engineers and researchers running long, expensive, technically dense workflows. Your job is to make those systems legible by designing configuration surfaces, telemetry, and visualizations that let engineers parameterize curation pipelines, inspect runtime behavior, and evaluate dataset quality.
You'll own the visual quality of what ships to production and partner closely with engineers to deliver it. Key responsibilities include creating and designing key user-facing features end-to-end from concept to production; defining design principles for an enterprise platform; establishing an intuitive, scalable design system and style guide; delivering high-quality assets including icons, illustrations, and motion; creating wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs; conducting user research and usability testing; and collaborating with engineering and research teams on strategy and deliverables.
You'll design across technical workflows (front-end UI for setting up, launching, monitoring, and intervening in curation and training jobs), data visualization (making dataset composition, quality, and cost legible), and onboarding/integration flows.
Required qualifications include 5+ years designing digital products with a strong portfolio; high visual craft with ability to produce finished assets (iconography, illustration, interface detail); track record of beautiful, intuitive motion design; experience creating and evolving design systems from scratch; ability to simplify complex technical concepts into intuitive UX; experience with data-dense interfaces and visualization; experience designing for cross-functional partners and distinct user types (enterprise technical users, ML researchers); excellent communication skills; proficiency with Figma and prototyping software; comfort in ambiguous, fast-paced startup environments; and ability to balance short-term deliverables with long-term vision.
Nice-to-have skills include implementing your own work (HTML/CSS, shipping front-end code), experience with AI tools for prototyping, experience designing platform workflows for ML engineers, experience with technical/enterprise users, and early-stage startup design experience.
The role is based in Redwood City, CA with 4 days per week in office. The company offers 100% covered health benefits (medical, vision, dental) and a 401(k) plan.
