Baseten is seeking a Product Designer to shape the next generation of its AI infrastructure platform. The company powers mission-critical inference for leading AI companies like Cursor, Notion, Abridge, and Writer, recently raising $1.5B in Series F funding. You'll join a small, high-ownership design team working across the entire Baseten product to solve complex problems for technical users. The role spans the full design arc: early exploration, research, product definition, prototyping, design reviews, specifications, and implementation. Key responsibilities include leading product design end-to-end; collaborating directly with engineering and product teams to frame problems and ship quickly; engaging with customers to understand workflows and validate ideas; raising visual and interaction quality across the platform; creating clear, fast, and polished interactions for complex technical workflows; evolving the design system and establishing scalable patterns; identifying cross-product opportunities for consistency and usability improvements; working directly with engineers to polish UI and ensure shipped experiences match designs; and helping shape how the design team operates while raising the quality bar company-wide. You should bring a strong portfolio demonstrating visual and interaction design excellence; experience designing complex, technical, or developer-focused products; ability to take ambiguous problems, understand customer needs, explore multiple approaches, and drive to strong solutions; deep attention to typography, layout, hierarchy, interaction, and systems; experience working directly with engineers and customers without process layers; a fast, prototype-early working style; ability to think beyond individual features to improve patterns and systems; comfort with technical tools like Git and VS Code, with interest in working directly in React, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or TypeScript; and strong product and design judgment with the ability to articulate quality standards and shipping readiness.
