Arondite is a defense technology company building software that enables organizations to leverage autonomy, data, and AI at scale. The company is backed by Index Ventures and focused on mission-critical decision-making in austere environments for UK and NATO operators.
You will join as the third designer on a growing team, working on Cobalt, an operating system for connected defense. Cobalt provides capabilities ranging from geospatial terrain analysis and annotation to complex mission planning, where users coordinate human and autonomous device actions in shared environments.
As a senior designer, you'll have direct ownership and influence over the product vision, visual direction, and design culture from day one. There is no corporate ladder—you'll work with exceptional engineers solving some of the world's hardest problems. Your work will directly impact national security priorities and mission-critical scenarios.
Key responsibilities include shipping world-class interfaces that solve real user problems, designing tailored interfaces for different user personas with appropriate technical clarity, curating the product architecture and UX as Cobalt scales, and developing an AI-native design process using tools like Cursor and Claude Code. You'll conduct user interviews, contribute to design systems, and work closely with users and internal teams to ensure the software solves the right problems in the right way.
You should have demonstrated experience shipping high-quality interfaces, conducting user interviews, contributing to design systems, and designing enterprise-grade software for desktop and mobile. Proficiency with Figma or Adobe XD is required. Ideally, you have experience with geospatial applications, robotic system interfaces, or frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, React). You're comfortable jumping into frontend code to polish the final details, have an eye for craft, and can advocate for user needs with conviction while remaining open-minded. You thrive in fast-moving environments where priorities shift and engineering ships quickly.
