Proscia is a leader in pathology AI software, revolutionizing how pathologists and scientists transition from traditional microscope-based workflows to digital, AI-driven approaches. The company is backed by over $100 million in funding and operates at the forefront of digital pathology and precision medicine innovation.
You will own discrete product areas end-to-end, from problem framing through shipped, validated experience. The role is product-first, with the majority of time spent on product craft. You'll bring both strong UX/UI skills and visual design sensibility—including iconography, illustration, and data visualization styling—that shows up in the product and occasionally in supporting brand or marketing assets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning product areas end-to-end, including design of AI-powered intelligence layers (model outputs, confidence scoring, human-in-the-loop review, explainability)
- Designing for human-AI collaboration: how pathologists interpret, trust, override, and act on AI-generated insights
- Leading user research efforts through observation, interviews, and usability testing
- Creating empathy maps, user personas, and journey maps
- Designing storyboards, process flows, sitemaps, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups
- Generating graphical elements, icon sets, illustrations, and contributing to the design system
- Collaborating with product managers, engineers, and scientists to translate insights into elegant solutions
- Designing with awareness of regulated medical device compliance frameworks (IEC 62366, FDA human factors guidance)
- Exploring ways to infuse AI into the design process itself
- Providing occasional support to marketing and sales with polished visuals
You should have 3–5 years of experience as a Product or UI/UX Designer with demonstrated expertise in AI/ML-driven product experiences. Experience designing regulated medical device products is a plus. You'll report to the Director of Design and work in a hybrid arrangement in Philadelphia.
