You will lead the design function for Payment Services, a critical domain covering all banking products that enable members to receive, send, and store funds domestically and internationally. This is a people-management role leading a small team of product designers across multiple geographies.
Key responsibilities include:
**Strategic Leadership:** Collaborate with Product Managers, Technical Owners, and senior stakeholders to define strategic objectives and roadmap priorities. Identify and de-risk major initiatives by partnering with research, product, and engineering teams. Define success metrics and expected business impact.
**Design Execution:** Drive implementation of strategic initiatives by delivering well-tested, validated outcomes in incremental releases. Partner with engineering to ensure delivery aligns with vision. Continuously improve ways of working to maintain quality. Monitor customer impact and pivot as needed.
**Design Advocacy:** Champion design thinking across Tide at all organizational levels. Promote member-centric approaches within your speedboat team. Showcase team achievements and capabilities in meeting strategic objectives.
**Team Leadership & Development:** Build and mentor a high-performing design team using diverse design methodologies. Provide inspiration, support, and clear career development with actionable goals. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cross-team collaboration.
You'll work within Tide's "Speedboat" structure—cross-functional teams of product managers, engineers, UX writers, data analysts, and marketers focused on solving critical member problems through continuous delivery. Cross-speedboat collaboration ensures seamless, connected member experiences.
Required qualifications: Minimum 7 years in UX/Product Design roles, ideally in SaaS scale-ups or startups. Proven experience leading a small product design squad or playing a key role in designing and launching world-class products in fast-growing companies. Deep knowledge of product design methodologies, especially Design Thinking. Ability to simplify objectives and deliver efficiently while collaborating with Product and Engineering on strategy and OKRs. Proficiency with design tools (Figma) and leading design reviews. Experience with user testing and research methodologies. Comfortable in agile, ambiguous scale-up environments. Data-driven decision-making approach.
