Cloaked is a consumer privacy and identity platform backed by $375M in Series B funding, protecting 10M+ identities and removing 1B+ records from data brokers. The company is building AI-native privacy, identity, and financial-services products, including Cloaked Pay. As Product Counsel, you will serve as a core legal partner embedded with Product, Engineering, Compliance, and business teams. This is a product-first legal role—not a traditional review function. You will partner directly with product teams from ideation through launch, understanding how products and AI-enabled features work, identifying regulatory gaps and opportunities, and translating complex legal requirements into practical product decisions. Key responsibilities include: **Product & AI Counseling**: Advise on AI-driven workflows, agentic experiences, automated decisioning, personalization, data use, and consumer-facing claims. Distinguish hard regulatory requirements from judgment calls and help the business make calibrated risk decisions. Counsel on privacy, cybersecurity, AI governance, marketing, and consumer-protection matters. **Financial Services & Payments**: Deep expertise in consumer payments, credit-card regulations (Regulation E, Z, GLBA, UDAAP/UDAP, FCRA, BSA/AML), prepaid access, money transmission, and Nacha requirements. Review compliance analyses and controls; ensure regulatory requirements translate into product flows, disclosures, policies, and operational workflows. Lead legal work across the Cloaked Pay ecosystem, including issuing-bank relationships, program managers, processors, cardholder terms, and vendor arrangements. **Commercial & Strategic Partnerships**: Own and negotiate product-enabling agreements including enterprise contracts, AI/data-provider agreements, MSAs, SOWs, DPAs, NDAs, and vendor contracts. Partner with Product, Sales, and Engineering to move launches forward efficiently. **Corporate & General Legal**: Support entity formations, corporate records, filings, governance, and coordination with outside counsel as needed in a lean legal team. You are a product person who happens to be a lawyer—you want to understand how things work, not advise from the sidelines. You're energized by AI and emerging technology, comfortable operating in regulatory gray areas, and skilled at giving actionable recommendations with clear risk assessment. You have strong judgment, low ego, and know when to push, compromise, or escalate.
