Modulr is a fast-growing payments automation platform processing over £150B annually for 6,000+ businesses. The company streamlines money movement through automated payment and reconciliation workflows, serving SMEs to enterprises across the UK and Europe.
You will join the Second Line Risk and Compliance Function in Europe as a Compliance Analyst, reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance Europe. This role is critical to ensuring effective compliance management across Modulr's European entity while collaborating with the UK business to drive best practices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Horizon scanning and regulatory change management to identify emerging regulatory requirements
- Regulatory reporting and compliance assessments across relevant jurisdictions (e.g., Bank of Spain, SEPBLAC)
- Managing day-to-day compliance operations, providing guidance to first-line teams, and identifying process improvements
- Supporting first-line teams in identifying, assessing, and treating compliance risks
- Engaging with regulators and supervisory authorities on local regulatory matters
- Monitoring AML/FT frameworks and controls, providing second-line oversight and challenge
- Owning certain regulatory reporting obligations (payment statistics, financial reports, AML reports) to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Championing a strong compliance culture across the business
- Providing high-quality management information and supporting ad hoc analysis
- Coordinating with external advisors on local regulatory matters
You bring at least 3 years of experience in a similar compliance analyst role within a financial institution or consultancy, with demonstrated experience engaging with regulators and supervisory authorities. You have a strong understanding of AML/FT frameworks in a second-line environment and can interpret regulations, translating them into clear, actionable guidance. Strong Spanish language skills are required. Experience in payments and fintech is valued but not essential. You excel at stakeholder engagement, relationship-building, and have the confidence to challenge senior staff appropriately.
