The Procurement Specialist will support the Operations, Logistics & Supply Chain organization, translating engineering requirements, prototype build needs, program schedules, and budget inputs into actionable sourcing and purchasing plans. This role sits at the intersection of Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain, ensuring specialized materials, components, equipment, and services are sourced, ordered, and delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality and compliance standards.
Key responsibilities include procuring technical components and materials for R&D, prototype, testing, and manufacturing activities; partnering with Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, and Finance to develop sourcing strategies; identifying, evaluating, and managing suppliers; soliciting and analyzing quotations; negotiating pricing and delivery terms; issuing purchase orders; monitoring supplier performance and delivery schedules; supporting long-lead material planning and supply chain risk mitigation; collaborating on prototype builds and NPI ramp-up activities; maintaining procurement records and compliance documentation; and helping improve procurement workflows and cost controls as the organization scales.
The ideal candidate has 7+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience, including direct support of R&D, prototype development, NPI, or early-stage production environments. Required skills include managing competing priorities in fast-paced, ambiguous settings; experience procuring materials and components for development work; quote solicitation, supplier evaluation, and negotiation; strong analytical and organizational abilities; proficiency with ERP and procurement systems; excellent cross-functional communication; and eligibility to obtain a U.S. personnel security clearance.
