You will join Harvey's global in-house legal team as a Privacy and AI Counsel, reporting to the Head of Privacy and supporting EMEA expansion. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant cross-functional influence across product, engineering, sales, and compliance functions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) with customers, subprocessors, service providers, and third parties
- Developing, maintaining, and scaling global privacy programs, including Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Records of Processing aligned with regulatory requirements
- Collaborating with product and engineering teams to evaluate privacy and data protection law impacts on product developments
- Monitoring and responding to evolving privacy laws and regulations, particularly AI-specific regulations
- Supporting implementation and compliance with AI-specific regulations including the EU AI Act and UK AI governance frameworks
- Assisting in AI system classification, risk assessment, and development of internal AI governance controls, documentation, and processes
- Partnering with legal, product, and compliance stakeholders on AI principles including transparency, accountability, and human oversight
You bring 4+ years of post-qualification experience as a qualified lawyer with proven expertise in EU and U.S. data protection law and familiarity with global compliance frameworks. You have excellent drafting and negotiation skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You are highly responsive, detail-oriented, and confident representing the organization on privacy, AI, and security matters.
