CesiumAstro is seeking a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team in El Segundo, California. The company develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing supplier quality across the organization's supply chain, ensuring that components and systems meet the rigorous standards required for aerospace and space applications. As a Principal-level engineer, you will drive quality strategy, establish supplier performance metrics, conduct audits and assessments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and manufacturing.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing supplier quality management programs
- Conducting supplier evaluations and audits
- Managing corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes
- Establishing quality standards and specifications for purchased components
- Working with suppliers to resolve quality issues and improve performance
- Ensuring compliance with aerospace and defense quality standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.)
- Mentoring and guiding engineering teams on quality best practices
- Collaborating with product development teams to ensure manufacturability and quality
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in supplier quality engineering, preferably in aerospace, defense, or space industries. You should have deep knowledge of quality systems, supplier management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment. This is a hands-on role that requires both strategic thinking and technical expertise.
