Okta is seeking an exceptional Principal Recruiter to serve as the first Talent Acquisition partner based in Singapore, leading critical hiring across the Asia-Pacific Japan (APJ) region. This is a senior individual contributor role reporting to the Senior Director of EMEA and APJ GTM based in the UK.
You will partner closely with the APJ General Manager and senior leadership team to translate business priorities into talent strategies and hiring outcomes. Your primary focus will be Go-to-Market hiring across all levels—from individual contributors through senior and executive positions—with flexibility to support critical hiring across other functions as business needs evolve.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering directly with APJ leadership to align talent strategies with business priorities
- Owning full-cycle searches across all levels, predominantly in Go-to-Market functions
- Leading complex senior and executive searches, including talent pipelining, market mapping, engagement, assessment, and close
- Building deep talent intelligence and networks across Singapore and APJ, proactively identifying and engaging exceptional talent ahead of immediate hiring needs
- Using market intelligence and data to challenge assumptions, shape decisions, and help leaders understand competitive positioning for talent
- Continuously improving hiring processes, removing friction, increasing quality, and moving with urgency
You bring significant hands-on recruiting experience in high-growth technology or SaaS environments, with deep knowledge of GTM talent across APJ and the Singapore market. You have a proven track record of owning full-cycle hiring across multiple levels and personally delivering complex senior and executive searches. You excel at sourcing, talent mapping, and market intelligence, with the ability to build and engage talent pools proactively.
You operate with confidence and judgment to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders, backed by data and recruiting expertise. You demonstrate versatility across functions and talent profiles, experience operating successfully across countries and cultures in global organizations, and a builder mindset with high ownership and bias toward action. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to operate with pace, judgment, and discretion, are essential.
The role requires presence in the Singapore office 2-3 days per week to collaborate with leadership, meet candidates, and engage with colleagues. This is an opportunity to stay close to the craft of recruiting while operating as a senior talent advisor to the business, with autonomy to build and influence at the highest levels of the APJ organization.
