Salary: USD 165,000 - 180,000 / annual
Phenom is an AI-powered talent experience platform redefining the HR tech space. As a Principal Product Manager on the platform team, you will drive the strategy and development of reusable platform capabilities that power multiple products across the talent lifecycle.
This is an integrator role where you identify convergence points between customer and product needs, transforming them into shared, well-governed components rather than one-off features that other product teams build upon. Phenom's platform spans fast-evolving areas including intelligence and orchestration capabilities that are increasingly agentic.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identify opportunities across Phenom's product suite where building shared, reusable capabilities creates more leverage than solving problems locally
- Own the strategy and roadmap for one or more core platform components, defining extensibility patterns, governance, and integration contracts
- Partner closely with engineering to deliver capabilities that are reliable, scalable, and secure enough to power multiple products simultaneously
- Work across product teams company-wide to drive adoption of platform capabilities and resolve tension between platform consistency and individual product needs
- Engage directly with enterprise customers and technical admin users to balance flexibility with guardrails large organizations require
- Prototype and validate new capabilities—particularly AI-driven ones—from early concept through production with a bias toward fast, low-cost validation
- Define success metrics that tie platform investment to measurable adoption and business impact
- Establish governance standards that keep shared components trustworthy and consistent as usage scales
You'll need strong judgment to know what should become a reusable platform primitive versus what shouldn't, and technical depth to partner closely with engineering on implementation. Experience with intelligence layers, workflow automation, or AI agents is a strong plus.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of product management experience in SaaS, with meaningful time owning platform, infrastructure, or shared-component product areas
- Demonstrated track record of building reusable platform capabilities that other product teams adopted and built on—not just shipping standalone features
- Track record of building and shipping AI-powered products from early prototypes through production scale
- Deep comfort partnering with highly technical teams on backend or platform systems, with technical fluency to earn their trust
- Experience owning ambiguous, evolving scope in fast-moving organizations and defining structure where none existed
- Demonstrated habit of using AI tools in daily workflow—not just advocating for AI in the product
- Excellent judgment and communication; able to move fast, decide with incomplete information, and bring people along across product, engineering, and customer-facing teams
- Experience with intelligence layers, workflow automation, or AI agents is a strong plus but not required
