The company blends cognitive science with machine learning to personalize learning experiences for students, professionals, and lifelong learners. The Growth and Monetization team helps learners discover Quizlet, build lasting study habits, and find value in free and paid experiences. Your decisions will connect free learner value, ads revenue, and long-term subscription adoption potential. Key responsibilities include: defining growth strategy by identifying audiences, learner needs, and product opportunities that drive durable growth; improving onboarding, activation, and repeat engagement; building growth loops through sharing, collaboration, referrals, and user-created content; growing ads revenue through better product experience; leading international growth by identifying promising markets and diagnosing barriers; connecting growth to long-term monetization; building rigorous experimentation practices; and leading through influence across complex initiatives. The role is hybrid in San Francisco, requiring presence in office at least two days per week (Wednesday and Thursday). REQUIREMENTS: - Record of leading growth for consumer products at scale with measurable results in activation, engagement, retention, or product-led acquisition, with impact across multiple surfaces or user journeys - Strong product judgment in freemium or ad-supported businesses, with ability to balance learner/customer value, monetization, and growth - Experience identifying new opportunities and setting strategy in ambiguous problem spaces; ability to connect experiments into coherent growth strategy - Deep analytical and experimentation skills including cohort analysis, funnel diagnostics, A/B testing, and interpreting causal evidence - Experience building consumer experiences with Engineering and Design, with technical fluency for instrumentation, platform dependencies, and delivery tradeoffs - Ability to influence senior stakeholders and partner teams without formal authority; ability to create clarity and drive execution - Record of making others more effective through mentorship, shared decision frameworks, and cross-functional collaboration; at Principal level, demonstrated ability to shape strategy and operating practices beyond immediate team BONUS EXPERIENCE: - Hands-on experience improving ad-supported consumer experiences (ad yield, placements, advertising effects on engagement) - Experience growing products internationally through localization, market prioritization, or adapting to local learner needs - Experience building sharing, referral, community, or content-driven growth loops, or growing education products with strong seasonal patterns - Experience using AI to improve product discovery, experimentation, or growth experiences with clear customer or business impact
