Altana is building the network for trusted trade, using AI to help governments and businesses create a more resilient and secure global economy. As Principal Product Manager for Customs & Border Authorities, you will lead the product vision for how Altana's platform serves customs, border, and revenue agencies worldwide.
Today, border agencies face an impossible mandate: understand, monitor, and act on the full depth of global commerce with outdated tools. They rely on paper-based trusted-trader audits, rule-matching systems that can't see the network, and data infrastructure designed for a simpler era. The result is a widening gap between what authorities need to know and what they can see—a gap bad actors exploit and legitimate traders pay for in delays and compliance overhead.
You will own the product vision across three core offerings:
1. Altana Passport Manager: Enables authorities to pre-clear goods before arrival using product passports, AI-driven risk assessment, and sovereign business logic—moving beyond paper-based programs to real-time, data-driven pre-clearance at scale.
2. Altana Entry Processing System: Integrates with existing targeting systems to deliver AI-driven entry review on streaming entries, meeting the low-latency demands of live trade while augmenting (not replacing) workflows agencies depend on.
3. Altana Trade Enforcement Suite: Powers enforcement and revenue protection across counternarcotics, undervaluation, and other priorities.
You will unify the platform architecture so a single capability set serves many governments while honoring each authority's sovereign control over data and business logic. You'll shape how authorities collaborate—within agencies, across agencies, and with trading partners—to build safer, more efficient workflows. You'll partner closely with enterprise product teams to ensure traders and authorities tell one coherent, trusted story.
This role requires deep experience at the intersection of trade, customs enforcement, and government operations. You understand how targeting and clearance decisions get made, why the data authorities need rarely arrives in the right format, and how to build systems that work across varied geographies, legal regimes, and levels of digital maturity.
