Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations Cloud, a platform enabling organizations in physical operations—agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing—to harness IoT data for actionable insights and operational improvement. The company helps digitally transform industries representing over 40% of global GDP.
This is a zero-to-one opportunity to lead Samsara's Worker Safety initiative as a Principal Product Manager. You will be the single-threaded owner responsible for taking an early-access product and defining its long-term market position, strategy, and path to scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct intensive onsite customer discovery and research to understand business needs and determine product strategy
- Translate complex customer feedback into clear value propositions, quantifying financial ROI and the business opportunity
- Define and deliver the Version 2 product roadmap, bridging firmware engineering and software execution
- Evaluate the broader market landscape to determine Samsara's competitive "right to win" in worker safety
- Leverage AI tools and creative visualizations to build demos and iterate on product concepts rapidly
- Establish success metrics, track performance, and iterate to ensure measurable customer and revenue impact
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, sales, customer success, and marketing teams
- Champion Samsara's cultural principles: customer focus, long-term thinking, growth mindset, inclusivity, and teamwork
You bring 8+ years of product management experience in high-growth, scrappy environments with a proven track record of building products from the ground up where no playbook exists. You excel at first-principles thinking, quantifying market opportunities, and communicating compelling visions to internal stakeholders and external customers. While hardware background is not required, you are comfortable working closely with firmware engineers and technical teams.
