HackerRank is seeking a Principal Product Manager to lead the Interviews product—an AI-native, pair-programming interview platform that helps companies evaluate how candidates solve real-world engineering problems. The platform enables live technical interviews with shared workspaces, coding tools, production-style repositories, and AI-assisted development evaluation.
In this role, you will own the product roadmap for how HackerRank Interviews evaluates AI-assisted development, including richer AI development environment (ADE) harnesses (Claude Code, Codex CLI), Chakra Assist for evaluation, enhanced session observation (screen sharing, A/V), and reporting across in-product dashboards, exports, APIs, and MCP integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the roadmap for AI-assisted development evaluation capabilities
- Defining how the platform captures and surfaces signals on how candidates prompt, review, and apply AI-generated work
- Driving the reporting and integration strategy across multiple channels
- Engaging directly with engineering customers and senior engineering leadership as the primary audience
- Representing the product in high-visibility customer-facing moments with composure
- Partnering closely with Engineering and Design to ship production-quality, AI-native experiences
- Embracing AI in both operations and product development
You will work in a fast-paced, cross-functional, cross-geo environment with engineers, designers, and analysts. The role requires deep collaboration with technical stakeholders and the ability to translate complex engineering needs into clear product strategy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years total professional experience, including at least 1 year hands-on Software Engineering
- 5+ years Product Management experience, preferably in B2B SaaS, enterprise products, tech services, or platforms; currently working as a PM
- Comfortable being the technical/product voice in rooms full of engineers, including senior engineering leadership
- Ability to stay composed under high-visibility pressure (e.g., executive stakeholders joining live customer channels)
- Strategic thinker who evaluates complex challenges, prioritizes effectively, and balances short-term and long-term success
- Deeply passionate about AI, using it as a reflex across personal workflows
- Proven track record of successfully launching and growing new products or significant features
- Ability to work in fast-paced, cross-team environments and deliver on shared vision
- Comfortable working with engineers, designers, analysts, and presenting to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Hands-on fluency with agentic coding harnesses (Claude Code, Codex CLI, Cursor, Copilot Workspace, or similar)
- Experience designing GTM motions where buyers and users are engineers or engineering leadership
- Experience operating in lean, founder-style teams without dedicated marketing support
- Background in HR tech, talent assessment, or technical hiring
- Experience building reporting/analytics or API-level integrations for technical audiences
