Docker is seeking a Principal Product Manager to own and drive the core Sandbox platform product area from concept through delivery and operation. You will shape the future of a key strategic area within Docker, working closely with developers inside and outside the company, customers, and partners to expand Docker's open ecosystem and deliver value at scale. Docker is a globally distributed, remote-first team building developer tools trusted by over 20 million monthly users. The company is positioned at the center of how AI agents are redefining software development, providing sandboxed environments, verified images, and secure infrastructure that make autonomous workflows trustworthy by default. In this role, you will own a complete product area including long-term vision, roadmap, revenue, and results. You will develop deep empathy for developer needs, engage directly with the community to identify and solve problems, and build products optimized for ease of adoption and use. You'll guide product definition and feature prioritization in collaboration with cross-functional teams, champion iterative development practices, and maintain a bias for action while comfortable with ambiguity. Key responsibilities include: owning the product area vision and roadmap; articulating customer pain points and constraints; engaging deeply with developers to find solutions; building products with strong design sensibility; guiding feature prioritization across functional teams; and driving iterative development informed by customer feedback and data. In your first 30 days, you'll immerse yourself in Docker's vision and mission, meet the team, understand user needs and pain points, and establish quarterly goals. By 90 days, you'll have shaped the team roadmap in collaboration with design and engineering, defined OKRs, and developed deep understanding of Docker's developer community. Within one year, you'll lead cross-functional product initiatives and drive long-term direction including ARR contributions. REQUIREMENTS: - Deep empathy for developer needs and obsession with user engagement - Demonstrated experience creating and deploying AI agents at scale, including hands-on knowledge of associated challenges - Comfort with command-line interfaces - Experience building B2B SaaS products or background in Public Cloud - Experience with software supply chain tools and/or software security - Ability to break down complex technical problems into small, release-able, user-valuable features - Strong communication skills (written, verbal, visual) across diverse stakeholders - Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions - Experience running products at various stages of maturity (legacy to greenfield) - Collaborative approach and ability to work with fast-moving, distributed, cross-functional teams - Comfort being both a doer and strategist in a small, resource-constrained environment
