Halter is a climate-tech company enabling farmers and graziers to run productive and sustainable operations using solar-powered smart collars and software. The platform lets farmers manage cattle, pasture, and animal health in real time from a mobile app—without traditional fencing, quad bikes, or dogs. You'll lead design for a significant area of Halter's farmer-facing product experience. This is a high-agency, high-impact role where design helps define what to build and why. You'll own the end-to-end design process: discovery, product definition, interaction design, prototyping, visual design, and launch. Key responsibilities: - Lead design vision and strategy for a major product area - Own the complete design lifecycle from early discovery through shipped product - Partner closely with Product and Engineering to define requirements and advocate for farmers - Turn complex, ambiguous problems into simple, intuitive, trustworthy experiences - Balance individual feature design with broader system thinking - Use customer insights from field research, data, and experimentation to inform work - Raise design quality through craft, critique, collaboration, and leadership - Work across multiple product surfaces and teams You bring 8+ years of product design experience, including 2+ years at a senior or lead level. You have exceptional visual and interaction design craft with a strong portfolio. You demonstrate strong ownership mentality, fluency with AI in design and product, excellent systems thinking, and strong product judgment. You can lead complex projects from ambiguous problem definition to shipped product, and communicate compelling points of view to influence stakeholders.
