ServiceNow seeks a Principal Platform Architect to serve as a trusted advisor for enterprise platform strategy and governance. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on defining platform standards, establishing governance models, and guiding architectural decisions to ensure ServiceNow remains scalable, healthy, and aligned with customer objectives.
You will define and maintain platform vision and strategy aligned to enterprise IT and business objectives. You'll provide architectural guidance to ensure designs meet platform standards and leading practices, shape governance frameworks covering instance strategy, integrations, and data models, and facilitate platform governance forums to drive consistent decisions across partners and teams.
Key responsibilities include anticipating and mitigating platform risks (scalability, performance, technical debt), influencing adoption of leading practices across customer, partner, and ServiceNow teams, and providing structured feedback to ServiceNow product and engineering teams. You'll engage across C-suite executives, enterprise architects, and platform teams to influence decisions and ensure consistency across the program. Travel of up to 50% annually may be expected.
Success means ServiceNow is embedded as a strategic enterprise platform with clear governance models, platform standards are consistently applied across delivery teams, technical risks are reduced, and you are recognized as a trusted advisor on platform strategy and governance.
Required qualifications include 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution strategy, and program leadership. You must have proven experience engaging at executive level to influence platform direction and business outcomes, a track record of defining multi-workflow enterprise-scale architectures and governance models, and strong ability to operate as a program-level architect guiding multiple teams toward unified vision. Expertise in platform strategy, integration patterns, and complex delivery governance is essential. ServiceNow Certified Master Architect (CMA) and other architecture certifications are highly desirable. Experience leveraging or critically thinking about AI integration into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving is required.
