Mendix (part of Siemens Software) is seeking a Principal Pre-Sales Consultant to support the SLC (SAS Language Container) product line in the healthcare and life sciences sector. SLC is a flexible environment for SAS language development and execution that also supports Python, R, and SQL, enabling modernization of legacy statistical computing infrastructure.
You will be a technical expert embedded in the sales process, working closely with account executives to guide customers and prospects through discovery, evaluation, and deployment of SLC. Your responsibilities include:
• Conducting high-level business and technical requirement-gathering sessions with customers and prospects
• Leading technical discovery activities to assess feasibility and effort for porting existing SAS code to SLC
• Reviewing IT infrastructure, ecosystems, and statistical computing environments to provide architectural guidance for SLC deployment
• Assisting customers with code porting and migration to SLC
• Scoping and executing pilots and proof-of-concept activities, with focus on SAS language execution, code portability, performance, compatibility, and modernization
• Providing subject matter expertise in SAS language and statistical programming within the pharmaceutical industry
• Creating and delivering industry-specific software demonstrations
• Onboarding and supporting service and technology partners
• Authoring and presenting pharma-industry-specific papers and presentations at webinars and conferences
• Participating in and leading pharma industry projects related to statistical programming
• Orchestrating and leading workshops showcasing SLC capabilities
• Leading and providing input to RFI and RFP responses
• Owning the technical relationship throughout the sales cycle
• Collaborating with the SLC product team to feed customer insights into the product roadmap
This is a hybrid role based in Sweden (Malmö, Gothenburg, or Stockholm), working within a global organization of 30,000 people across 200+ countries. Siemens Software emphasizes flexibility, trust, autonomy, and global mobility.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum 5 years' experience programming in the SAS language
• Deep understanding of statistical programming within the pharmaceutical industry
• Strong communication skills; ability to explain complex problems in simple terms
• Ability to influence executives and guide enterprise-scale technology adoption
• Full professional proficiency in English and Swedish (written and spoken)
• Experience conducting and running workshops
• Practical experience in customer-facing technical roles (PreSales, Solutions Consulting, Technical Consulting, Training, Business or Technical Support, or similar)
• Strong ability to explain and demonstrate SAS language behavior, compatibility considerations, migration patterns, and performance implications to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience designing and running proof-of-concepts and technical evaluations with clear success criteria and structured outcomes
• Confident presentation skills; ability to deliver technical demos, workshops, and architecture discussions
• Comfortable working across stakeholders (sales, product, engineering) to influence solution direction and remove blockers
PREFERRED:
• Experience with R and/or Python
• Knowledge of low-code AI tools
