As Principal Engineer, you will design, implement, and own complex backend systems end-to-end, including system architecture, integration points, performance optimization, and scalability across multiple services and data platforms. You will architect large-scale data pipeline systems and backend services using AWS technologies (Lambda, DynamoDB, Redshift, Athena, Glue, S3), build and maintain backend APIs and distributed data workflows in a cloud-native architecture, and work across Node.js, Python, .NET, and SQL platforms.
Key responsibilities include translating product and business requirements into technical system designs, evaluating tradeoffs, and communicating risks and constraints to cross-functional teams. You will implement AI-assisted development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing to improve system-level productivity. You will design reusable AI-assisted tools and shared prompt libraries, integrate them into CI/CD and code review processes, and oversee technical output, delivery flow, and overall system-level effectiveness.
You will lead technical design and development, participate in design and code reviews, propose architecture improvements, and support ongoing system evolution. Collaboration with product managers, engineers, data scientists, and customer-facing teams is essential to define scope, prioritize work, and deliver high-impact solutions. You will mentor teammates in AI-assisted development practices and refine team processes to reduce bottlenecks.
This is a fully remote position with no relocation required; you may work from anywhere in the United States.
