Brex is seeking a Principal Design Recruiter to lead talent acquisition strategy for its design organization. This is a strategic, high-impact role responsible for recruiting world-class design talent across Product Design, Brand Design, and Design Leadership functions.
You will own the full recruitment lifecycle—from sourcing and engagement through onboarding—with a focus on senior and executive-level design roles. Key responsibilities include partnering with VP and C-level design leaders to define hiring strategy and craft standards, sourcing talent through diverse channels (recruiting platforms, creative communities, portfolio sites, social networks), evaluating design portfolios and assessing systems thinking and collaboration skills, and managing complex offer and negotiation processes at the executive level.
You'll develop and execute strategies to build diverse design talent pipelines for both immediate and long-term needs, track and analyze hiring metrics to drive recruiting effectiveness, and champion Brex's employer brand within the design community through events, portfolio reviews, and social platforms. This includes mentoring other recruiters, defining interview processes at the organizational level, and serving as a thought partner to senior stakeholders on complex hiring challenges.
The role requires deep expertise in design recruiting, fluency in evaluating design portfolios and craft, and a proven track record of raising hiring bars and building high-performing teams. You'll work in a hybrid environment (minimum 3 days/week in Seattle office: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) with flexibility for up to 4 weeks of fully remote work annually.
