Alumni Ventures is seeking a Principal to join the Blue Team, a venture investment group managing multiple funds including Blue Ivy Ventures (Yale community), Nassau Street Ventures (Princeton community), and the HealthTech Fund. This is a generalist investing role focused on Seed and Series A companies, with flexibility across Pre-Seed and Growth-stage opportunities.
You will be responsible for sourcing high-quality investment opportunities, leading due diligence on potential investments, and supporting portfolio companies through execution. Key responsibilities include building and maintaining a strong pipeline of prospective investments, developing relationships with founders, venture investors, and ecosystem partners, and evaluating company teams, business models, market opportunities, and competitive landscapes.
You'll work closely with the Managing Partner and broader investment team to identify high-potential companies, develop investment recommendations through the Investment Committee process, and maintain deal activity and diligence findings in firm systems. Success requires strong investment judgment, relationship-building skills, and the ability to cultivate meaningful connections with founders and industry partners.
The role offers the opportunity to develop areas of expertise and differentiated investment theses while remaining flexible across sectors and technologies. You'll collaborate across the broader Alumni Ventures platform (850,000+ members, 40+ dedicated investors, $1.4B+ in assets raised) to strengthen access to compelling opportunities and represent the firm to external stakeholders.
Alumni Ventures operates as a 5-day-a-week in-office culture emphasizing collaboration and mentorship. The position may be based in New York City, Menlo Park, or Boston offices.
