Generalist is building embodied foundation models and general intelligence for the physical world, focusing on robotics and dexterity. The company combines large-scale AI and robotics, with a team drawn from OpenAI, Google DeepMind, and Boston Dynamics.
As a Partnerships Associate, you will be the primary point of contact for prospective partners, responsible for communicating Generalist's technology and vision, building strong relationships, and identifying partnership opportunities. You'll develop deep technical fluency in the company's models and capabilities, becoming a super user who can explain complex concepts clearly, demonstrate capabilities, and help partners understand what's possible.
Key responsibilities include evaluating partnership opportunities and understanding partner needs, prioritizing the strongest opportunities, and moving promising relationships toward concrete next steps. You'll own partner initiatives end-to-end, translating conversations into clear workplans with defined owners, milestones, and timelines. You'll manage a high volume of parallel partner workstreams, synthesizing complex technical and business topics into clear communication for both partners and internal stakeholders.
You'll work closely with ML/engineering, product, GTM, and leadership teams to coordinate partner needs, surface decisions, minimize internal overhead, and ensure strong follow-through. The role includes representing Generalist at industry events and conferences as needed.
Required: 2–5 years in a demanding, high-ownership environment (tech, startup, consulting). You must demonstrate ability to own and drive multiple cross-functional initiatives simultaneously, create clarity from ambiguity, and execute end-to-end with minimal oversight. Exceptional organizational, project management, written, and verbal communication skills are essential. You should have strong technical curiosity and the ability to quickly develop fluency in complex products or technologies. High energy, responsiveness, strong interpersonal skills, and genuine enthusiasm for meeting new people and building relationships are critical. You need strong judgment to assess opportunities, prioritize investments, and drive conversations toward clear next steps, along with high integrity and reliability.
Preferred: Experience in AI/ML, robotics, developer platforms, or other complex technical environments; experience owning partner or customer engagements from initial conversation through execution; experience in partnerships, business development, product/program management, or strategy & operations; demonstrated ability to craft clear external narratives and crisp internal decision memos.
