Qumulo is seeking a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect to join its field sales organization in the Pacific Northwest. The company's cloud data platform manages exabytes of demanding data, unifying files, objects, and workloads across edge, core, and cloud environments, serving enterprise customers in AI, HPC, genomics, medical imaging, media, and surveillance.
In this role, you will be a trusted technical advisor to customers and prospects, translating complex business and technical requirements into scalable cloud data architecture solutions. You will lead solution design and customer engagement by participating in deep-dive technical discussions, articulating value propositions, and delivering both high-level and detailed architectural designs. You will support the full sales cycle through technical proposals, RFP responses, whitespace analysis, and deal strategy guidance.
Key responsibilities include building and maintaining trusted advisor relationships with C-level and technical stakeholders using strong communication and consultative selling skills. You will deliver hands-on demonstrations and proof-of-concept deployments to validate solutions and overcome objections. You will stay current on industry trends and contribute to thought leadership through case studies, white papers, and media engagement. Travel up to 20% across the Northwest United States is expected.
You are a technologist who excels at explaining complex technical concepts in accessible terms. You are naturally curious, comfortable getting hands-on, and thrive in a startup environment working with both partners and customers.

- Experience designing solutions across edge, datacenter, and cloud environments, including hybrid storage architectures

- Familiarity with competitive storage technologies (NetApp, Dell Technologies, PowerScale, VAST Data, Pure Storage, Ceph, Lustre, Scality, Weka) and Pacific Northwest storage/cloud markets
- Strong communication, presentation, and consultative/value-selling skills; ability to whiteboard, demo, and handle objections for technical and non-technical audiences
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; AWS, Azure, or storage certifications preferred
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident (Green Card holder); not eligible for visa sponsorship due to customer and contractual requirements
